Who you gonna call?

Many, many years ago I was a nurse in a large London teaching hospital. 

 

In a life threatening medical emergency, when it was critical to have extra help urgently, you rang 333 to summon the 'Crash Team'.

 

The 'Crash Team' was a team of experts who, using specialist knowledge and highly developed skills, performed remarkable feats which saved many, many a life.

 

It was great to have the reassurance that whenever you rang 333, no matter what time of day or night it was, help was always immediate and at hand.

 

It is the same number, 333, that I always recall in my walk with God when I need His urgent assistance, guidance and support to work with me through critical times; but this time 333 refers not to a 'phone number but to a scripture - Jeremiah 33:3:

 

Jeremiah 33:3: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty [inaccessible] things, which thou knowest not.

 

... and God's response and promise:

 

Jeremiah 29:12; Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken [listen] unto you.

 

Psalm 50:15; And call upon me in the day of trouble: I wilt deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. 

 

Psalm 91:15; He shall call me , and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
